With the technology available to us today, there are many options available to those who want to take guitar lessons.

For beginners there are many ways to learn how to play guitar.

• Books & Instruction Manuals - Books provide an easy way to get started learing to play guitar. Books are great for teaching the basics suce as notes, chords, scales, etc.. It is probably the least expensive way to get started playing guitar.
   
• Videos & DVDs - This option provides one of the most convenient ways to learn to play guitar. Proceed at your own pace and skill level. One advantage of taking a guitar lesson by watching it on the screen is that you get to see the instructor in action and it tends to be easier to learn how to play guitar by watching others.
   
• Computer Training - Guitar lessons via computer provides much of the same advantages as Video and DVD training but provides more interactivity. Learning guitar via computer provides the ultimate learning experience, second only to personal lessons.
   
• Personal Lessons - Hiring a local pro to teach you how to play guitar is probably the best option available but can be the most expensive. Always try to get referral and be very specific about the type of guitar training you will need. Rock guitar? Classical Guitar? Jazz Guitar? Folk Guitar? Etc...
