Used Bass Guitar

Finding a quality used bass guitar has never been easier. There are many on-line sources such as Ebay where people privately sell their basses. Most of these on-line sites allow you to view the guitar, view the specifications, post questions to the buyer, and view the guitar When looking for a used guitar to purchase there a few basics you should start with:

  • Research the type of bass you are interested in purchasing. It helps to have an idea
of the price range of the model you are looking for. There are price guides,
magazines and many on-line sources to help you.
  • Register with Ebay and search for bass guitars that have been sold in the past to determine a rough price range of what you are looking for. Make note of the questions that people have asked about the instrument when placing their
    bids.
  • Ask if there are any problems with the neck of the guitar. A warped neck is definitely
    a concern.
  • Ask if the tuning pegs work smoothly and correctly.
  • Ask if the guitar has had any parts replaced. If you are looking for a vintage
guitar, this is important. Original parts tend to increase the value of the bass.
  • Ask about the history of the guitar to determine if there's been any prior damage.

Buying a pre-owned bass can save you a lot of money but it pays to take your time, learn as much as you can, and research what's available before making your decision.
