Used Electric Guitar

Purchasing a quality used electric guitar has never been simpler. There are many Internet sources such as Ebay where you can find almost any type of used guitar. Most of these sites allow you to view the guitar, view the specifications, post questions to the seller, and actually view photos of the guitar.

When purchasing a used guitar, there a few basics you may want to consider:
  • Research the type of electric guitar you are interested in. You can get a quick idea of the price range of the model you are insterested in.

  • Register with Ebay and search for guitars that you are interested in that have been sold recently to determine the price range of what you are looking for. Make note of the information that people have requested from the seller. Many of these questions are questions you should also be asking the seller of your instrument.

  • Ask about the neck of the guitar and if it is straight. A warped guitar neck can be a problem.

  • Ask if the tuning pegs operate correctly.

  • Ask if the guitar has had any parts replaced. If you are looking for a vintage
electric guitar, this is important. Original parts tend to increase the value of the guitar.

  • And also ask about the history of the guitar to determine if there's been any prior damage.
