Purchasing a quality used guitar amp has never been easier. There are many Internet sources such as Ebay where you can find almost any type of amplifier being sold, no matter what type of sound you are searching for.

Most of these sites allow you to view the amp, view specifications, post questions to the seller, and actually view photos of the amplifier.

When purchasing a used amp, there a few basics you may want to consider.

Research the type of amplifier you are interested in. You can then check out what has sold in the past and make note of the prices the guitar amplifiers sold for. Register with Ebay and search for amps that you are interested in that have been sold recently to determine the price range of what you are looking for. Also make note of the questions posted to the seller. Many of these questions are good questions that you might want to ask a prospective seller.

Ask if the amplifier has had any parts replaced. If you are looking for a vintage amp, this is important. Original parts tend to increase the value of the amplifier and replacement parts sometimes alter the original sound the of the amplifier.

Buying a pre-owned guitar amp can save you a lot of money but you need to do your homework!
